Joe Mays won't play this week vs. the Raiders after all.
After it was leaked that Mays was suspended for one game following his helmet-to-helmet collision with Matt Schaub that resulted in the quarterback losing not only his helmet – but a piece of his ear also – the NFL upheld their ruling of suspending Mays for one game. Mays will be barred from the team's facilities until next Monday, according to league rules.
John Fox did not speculate who would start at middle linebacker in Mays' place. Steven Johnson is listed behind Mays on the depth chart, but 15-year veteran Keith Brooking could start in Mays' place also.
RB Willis McGahee is on track to play this Sunday against the Raiders. He practiced for the second consecutive day despite sore ribs that he suffered in the second half of Sunday's loss to the Texans.

The Denver Broncos have announced three roster moves a little more than 24-hours before their game in Denver versus the Oakland Raiders.
When the Broncos opened up the Peyton Manning era in the season opener vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers on September 9th, Manning didn't turn the ball over a single time, and it was hard to find anything to criticize about Manning's debut with the 'Orange Crush', as he slowly dissected Pittsburgh's defense, going 19/26 for 253 yards and two touchdowns.
Brian Dawkins has no idea how he'll react Sunday, when he watches his No. 20 jersey formally retired before the Eagles-Giants game at Lincoln Financial Field.
''I've thought about it, and I just don't know,'' he said. ''Will I kick into game mode or will I be a mushy tear machine? I don't know. All I know is it's an awesome thing. Last...
You saw it, I saw it, Roger Goodell saw it and my head is still ringing from it four days later. The hit administered by Denver Broncos Linebacker Joe Mays on Houston Quarterback Matt Schaub will be one that Schaub will not soon forget. A portion of the quarterback’s ear was torn off when the helmet was dislodged from his head. Helmets are made to be snug to fit and protect...
Denver running back Willis McGahee (ribs) is listed as probable for Week 4, according to the Denver Post.Fantasy Spin:McGahee left Sunday's game against Houston with injured ribs but he's been fine in practice this week. Even if he wears protection for his ribs he should still be fine to start as a RB2 in 12-team leagues.
On Sunday the Philadelphia Eagles will honor safety Brian Dawkins during a halftime ceremony. The ritual will take place as the Eagles take on their division rivals the New York Giants.

The impact of the hit was so great that it sent Schaub’s helmet flying, along with a small piece of his ear lobe. And if you look closely enough in the banner pic above, you just might be able to make out...
This Sunday, the Eagles will honor their former Safety and fan favorite, Brian Dawkins. On Sunday night, the Eagles will retire the legendary #20 prior to the start of the game. B-Dawk was remebered for his on, and off the field leadership. Brian gave absolutely everything he had, night in and night out. Besides his on field play, and his never give up attitude, Dawkins was...
This Sunday the Oakland Raiders will be going up against long time rival, the Denver Broncos. The Raiders lead this series overall with a record of 53 wins, 39 losses and 1 tie. The Raiders hope to make that 54 wins this Sunday, but the Broncos will do their best to keep it from happening. [...]
