Headed to GREEN BAY TOMORROW #freshstart — JOE MCKNIGHT (@Joejetlife) August 30, 2013 McKnight just recently tweeted this out. We’re still waiting confirmation that the Packers are in fact signing him to a contract. McKnight, 25, was released by the Jets earlier this week. It appears as though the Packers are looking for a replacement for DuJuan Harris who was lost for the season after he suffered a knee injury. McKnight also offers them a decent kick-return options, which is something they could use now that they’ve taken Randall Cobb out of that role. This very well could be the end of James Starks‘ time with the Packers. The post Joe McKnight Signing With The Packers? appeared first on NFL Trade Rumors -.

Mike McCarthy: DuJuan Harris was going to be a “big part” of our offense

Packers head coach Mike McCarthy told the media that running back DuJuan Harris was going to be a “big part” of their offense this season before they were forced to place him on season ending injured reserve with a knee injury. “Every offseason, you go through evaluations of your offense, you do offseason studies, you project how you envision your offense looking and then you...

Five things learned: Packers' offense struggles without Aaron Rodgers

Five things we learned from the Green Bay Packers' 30-8 preseason loss to the Kansas City Chiefs: 1. No Aaron Rodgers, no offensive success With Rodgers getting the night off, it was time for Vince Young and B.J. Coleman to show what they could do. Well, neither performed well in Kansas City. Not leading any touchdown drives and coming away with just six points, Green Bay'...

Mason Crosby restructures contract, will make less in 2013

Mason Crosby beat out Giorgio Tavecchio and Zach Ramirez to retain his job as the Green Bay Packers' kicker. Now, Crosby will have to outperform the 2012 version of himself if he's going to get paid this season the way he expected to. Crosby accepted a restructured contract with the Packers that lowers his 2013 salary from 2.4 million down to 800,000. Crosby's new contract...

Vince Young the most eligible free agent quarterback

With rosters down to just 53 players, there’s bound to be a run on free agents in the coming days. One of the most eligible such players is now Vince Young, who failed to stick with the Green Bay Packers, but this is a quarterback needy league, and Vince Young can still play. Frankly, it’s strange to see such a talented quarterback with a winning record looking for work. Because...

Eddie Lacy gives Packers one of the best backfields

Would I be crazy to say that the Green Bay Packers possibly have one of the best backfields in the NFL? They haven’t had a running back who has run for over 100 yards in a single game for a number of years, but they just might have drafted the running back that can break that dry spell. Yes, I’m talking about the bruising running back from Alabama named Eddie Lacy. We all know...

Matt Simms Is Worth Developing

In the preseason finale, the New York Jets gave Matt Simms his most extensive NFL action since coming into the league in 2012. Simms played the entire game against the Philadelphia Eagles and left the coaching staff impressed and the fans wanting more. Final Thoughts On The Packers

Mike McCarthy enters his eighth season as Green Bay’s head coach It’s been a blast. Here are my final thoughts on the roster and a prediction on what to expect this season: -Vince Young brings me back to the 1980s – and not in a listening to Bruce Springsteen for the first time good way. He reminds me of Vince Ferragamo and Jim Zorn, other washed-up quarterbacks who couldn’t...
