Miami Dolphins coach Joe Philbin has had a year to evaluate his team and start to weed out the bad apples. Every coach’s goal is to get their players to buy into the system, and for Philbin that means on and off the field. He doesn’t want phone calls in the middle of the night from players in jail or being challenged in the locker room. He wants a smooth low key approach that only true professionals can appreciate. This offseason saw an exodus of veterans largely due to attitude issues. According to Omar Kelley of the Sun-Sentinel, year two will have a different look and feel to the Dolphins. Kelley writes: ‘After one season we've learned Philbin is direct, rigid, and sometimes prickly. His players are learning to adjust, and that's essential considering the Dolphins are receiving a makeover in his image. Just like HBO's Hard Knocks series showed Philbin combing the practice field for scraps of paper and policed the locker room's neatness, it has become clear he's very finicky about the type of players he wants on his team.’ Philbin describes what he wants: "I want guys who want to make an impact on and off the field. Good human beings. Guys who want to get better. Guys who want to improve," Philbin said. "They want to be great, want to win. Those types of guys we can work with every day."     var switchTo5x=true; stLight.options({publisher:''});
