With two straight losses with Caleb Hanie at the helm, the Chicago Bears find themselves in an unenviable position on Sunday, traveling to Denver to meet the best (and most run into the ground) story in the NFL: Tim Tebow. After taking over the reins for John Fox’s offense, the Broncos are 6-1 and lead the AFC West after starting the year 1-4. Will there be more magic in Denver or can Urlacher and the Bears keep Timmy in check? It’s time to break this one down!

(7-5) Chicago Bears at
(7-5) Denver Broncos

If last week’s sack-fest of Caleb Hanie at the hands of the Chiefs didn’t freak you out enough, get ready for Vin Miller and Elvis Dumervil to come off the edges. Watch the blocking of the Bear offensive tackles closely, because Hanie could be caught staring at the blitz or running for his life on nearly every play. And while Champ Bailey may have lost a step, he can still hang with Earl Bennett. (I think.) Without Matt Forte, Marion Barber must take the bulk of the carries on offense, supplemented by Kahlil Bell. Lovie Smith will have to keep an eye on Barber’s number of carries early on or the back’s bruising running style will tire him out before he can take advantage in the fourth. With limited production coming from the wide-outs in recent weeks, the offensive line has to pound on the Denver defensive front from the first snap on. It’ll be another low-scoring day.

Grading the Bears vs. Broncos

Quarterback: C The Bears round a winning formula for Caleb Hanie — don’t let him do too much. Hanie was 9-of-15 of 76 yards, but no interceptions. Running backs: B Marion Barber (27 carries, 108 yards, 1 TD) and Kahlil Bell (9-40) filled Matt Forte’s shoes. But Barber had two miscues at the end...

Jay Cutler Tribute Song is Sad, Sweet, and Surprisingly Well Done

Now that the Bears have had Caleb Hanie under center the last few weeks, fans have started to realize how good they had it with QB Jay Cutler, and with RB Matt Forte out as well, the pining for the return of Cutler has intensified, as is evidenced by this rather touching parody song called “Cutty Come Back.” Kind of sweet, in an cheesy, unshaven, Camaro driving, 70s sort of...

Bears Lose In OT

Despite carrying a 10 point lead in the 4th Quarter, the Chicago Bears collapsed late in the game and allowed the Broncos to score 13 unanswered points, including a game winning Field Goal in Overtime, making the final score 13-10. Fantasy Spin: Bears QB, Caleb Hanie, passed for 115 yards which is a good indication that his WRs didnt do much either. Johnny Knox led the team with...

It's the Marion Barber show from here on out until Matt Forte and/or Jay Cutler return. Here is a look at hypothetical propositional wagers between the Bears and Broncos. First team to score Broncos. Unless there’s a defensive or special teams score, or some kind of broken play, I don’t expect a touchdown to be the first score. So, it really comes down to which team’s offense...
