You hear the term "graybeard" a lot to refer to older players, but it's very rarely actually true. Aside from Kurt Warner and the inescapable Brett Favre, I can't think of a whole lot of players who actually continued to play while sporting silver facial hair. Well, you can add Joey Galloway to the list. I mentioned Galloway's distinctive on-field appearance, the strips of his headwear fluttering behind his helmet, but the most distinctive part of his off-field appearance was his white stubble. But that wasn't the only thing that alluded to Galloway's age; so did half the questions he was asked. It's funny: when Galloway signed, I thought of him as a veteran receiver.
