Denver Broncos executive vice president of football operations John Elway told the Denver Post that they plan on placing the franchise tag on offensive lineman Ryan Clady this offseason.
“We’re going to tag him,” said Elway.
Elway says they would like to work out a long-term deal with Clady.
“We’d like to work something out, like we did last year,” Elway said. “Things have changed a little bit because he’s coming off a shoulder surgery. But we like Ryan. We like him a lot as a player and we’d like to get something done.”
If Clady can stay healthy in 2013, I’m sure Elway and the Broncos won’t have a problem making sure he sticks around for a long time.
