John Madden the legendary broadcaster and NFL football video game king is calling it quits. Madden started his NFL career as linebackers coach with the Raiders and led them to a Super Bowl win in 1979. He joined CBS after that year as a broadcaster and has been delighting and confusing NFL football fans ever since with his passion and love for the telestrator. I will remember Madden more for his video games which I have bought many of times on the Super NES, Nintendo 64, GameCube and most recently last year’s 2009 edition on the Wii. He is calling it quits because is 73 years old and wants to spend more time with his family. He will be replaced by Cris Collinsworth on NBC’s Sunday Night Football. You will be missed John but I know you will continue to confuse me even in retirement while I led the 49ers to the Super Bowl again in the only place the 49ers are good which is in the video game world.
We all know John Madden’s favorite football player is Brett Favre. But does join have another love? Maybe the jokes on us. Classic Madden:
