Lost in all the hubbub of the Redskins’ quarterback change on Wednesday was the addition of guard John Malecki to the practice squad.
Malecki fills the spot vacated by rookie Maurice Hurt, who was promoted to the 53-man roster after left tackle Kory Lichtensteiger was placed on the injured reserve list.

John Beck is the new starting quarterback for the Washington Redskins. Coach Mike Shanahan informed his team Wednesday that Beck will get the nod for this week's game against the Carolina Panthers.
