In the end, Cedric Griffin couldn’t answer the bell.
The cornerback, who missed all of training camp and preseason recovering from an ACL but still reportedly had a chance of making it on the field for tonight’s game, is listed among the Vikings’ inactives.
Griffin is joined by fellow cornerback Chris Cook, QB Joe Webb, RB Toby Gerhart, G Chris DeGeare, DT Jimmy Kennedy, TE Mickey Shuler and DE Everson Griffen.
The news is better for John Sullivan, who despite missing all of preseason like Griffin, will be on field tonight. In fact, he will be starting at center.
And this just in from Judd Zulgad: Asher Allen gets the start at right cornerback over Lito Sheppard. As expected, Husain Abdullah will start at safety alongside Madieu Williams.
