GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Johnny Jolly is back. Nearly three years after being indefinitely suspended by the NFL, the Green Bay Packers' 30-year-old defensive lineman is in uniform and participating in the team's Tuesday minicamp. Jolly, the Packers' sixth-round pick in 2006, missed out on Green Bay's Super Bowl XLV victory and consecutive NFC North division titles, but it's a big step in the right direction for him. While the Packers were in the middle of a 15-1 regular season in 2011, Jolly was sentenced to six years in a Texas prison after violating his probation for a drug conviction. Six months into his six-year sentence, Jolly was released from prison on "shock probation," a program for first-time prisoners that experience the shock and trauma of being locked up. Jolly was required to serve 10 years of shock probation and perform 200 hours of community service. That positive development for Jolly led to him receiving a letter from NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Feb. 25, 2013 that the indefinite suspension had been lifted. Jolly was not at the Packers' first two weeks of organized training activities, but that, according to coach Mike McCarthy, was because Jolly was still "going through the process." Now, Jolly has a chance to begin his NFL dream all over again. Follow Paul Imig on Twitter
