Fox Sports Wisconsin:
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- One year after being released from prison, Johnny Jolly is one week away from continuing his NFL career with the Green Bay Packers.
As the Packers began their offseason training activities this week, Jolly was absent. But as Green Bay went through Tuesday's practice, Jolly sent a tweet to a Packers fan saying that he would rejoin the team on May 28.
Though coach Mike McCarthy did not confirm that date as being Jolly's arrival in Green Bay, the now-30-year-old defensive lineman will soon be competing on the field for the first time since January 2010.
"When Johnny's situation, his process is completed, when he gets up here, then I'll have more information for you," McCarthy said. "He is still going through the process."
Jolly was indefinitely suspended by the NFL in 2010 after being arrested multiple times. Jolly was first arrested in 2008 for possessing at least 200 grams of codeine. After the 2009 season, Jolly was arrested on ...

Green Bay Packers linebacker Demond Bishop started 13 games in 2011 to help lift the Packers to a 15-1 record, but in 2012, never made his way back to the turf after a disappointing hamstring injury got in his way. As a result, Bishop was a heavy favorite to be traded a month ago by Ted Thompson, but now looks likely to remain in green and gold for at least one more year. Most players...
One of the amazing things about life is the opportunity for second chances.
That is what Johnny Jolly is hoping to get this season-another chance to prove he can still play professional football. And a chance to prove he has changed his life forever.
Jolly is far removed from where he left off his playing career following the 2009 season, a season which saw him finish with one sack...
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Green Bay Packers added another wide receiver to their group, signing Alex Gillett out of Eastern Michigan.
Gillett, listed by the team at 6-foot-1 and 214 pounds, was mostly a quarterback in college, starting 30 games at that position. He only started three games at wide receiver, catching 14 passes for 132 yards.

According to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Packers cornerback Sam Shields didn’t show for Tuesday’s organized team activities. It likely has to do with that fact that he wants a long-term contract.
A restricted free agent, Shields has not signed his tender with the team. Coach Mike McCarthy would not offer a specific reason for Shields not practicing, but Shields is likely...

Either due to nostalgia or stinginess, Charles Woodson agreed to a one-year contract worth $1.8 million to rejoin the Oakland Raiders on Tuesday night. Taken by Oakland out of the University of Michigan fourth overall in the 1998 draft, the 36-year-old Woodson also landed a $700,000 signing bonus from the Raiders. Clipped by the Green Bay Packers in February, The Denver Post reports...

Recently free agent veteran defensive back Charles Woodson wondered publicly why he and some other quality veterans (i.e. Brian Urlacher, Dwight Freeney, etc.) were still without jobs. They might be older, but they can still get the job done as good if not better than these young bucks!
Freeney signed with the Chargers over the weekend and now Woodson is off the market as well...
At the ripe old age of 30, Tramon Williams will take on added leadership responsibilities without Charles Woodson while trying to recapture the form from his brilliant 2010.
