Former Bengals defensive end Jonathan Fanene bolted Cincinnati soon after receiving a phone call from New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, quickly signing a $12 million deal over three seasons. Fanene left Cincinnati as one of the team's better pass rushers and versatile players, playing as much defensive end as he did defensive tackle during obvious passing downs. When asked about the comparisons between the Patriots organization and the one he left in the dust nearly two months ago, Fanene said: "There's a lot," he said, "but I'm just going to pick out one thing. I see guys focus more. Not just the workouts but everything we do out here is more like a team effort. So guys really welcome me inside the locker room. It's not about all the talking and the media stuff, it's more like hard working and just do your job." Interesting perspective, considering all we've heard about recently is lockerroom stability and unity, a dr...

Patriots sign WR Jabar Gaffney.

It did not take long for Jabar Gaffney to catch on with a team after being released by the Washington Redskins earlier this week. Gaffney will reunite with both the New England Patriots and his on again/off again OC Josh McDaniels who also coached him in Denver. Stability is the word that always comes to mind with Gaffney whose production has never waned. The Patriots have a very...

Draft Grades: New England Patriots

The New England Patriots are always a tough team to predict in the draft, and Bill Belichick proved why once again. Belichick builds his own draft board and sticks to it, regardless of how it matches up with the consensus opinion. I was somewhat surprised by the trade up for Chander Jones, but I like the pick. He’s a perfect fit at end/linebacker in the Patriots hybrid defense...

Robert Kraft Shares Emotional Note Sent From Junior Seau After Myra Kraft's Death

FOXBORO, Mass. -- Patriots owner Robert Kraft fought through tears Thursday to share one of his favorite memories of Junior Seau. The gesture was as genuine as they come. Kraft found out reporters were at Gillette Stadium, so he walked to the media room to reveal a note Seau sent him after Kraft's wife, Myra, died last year. The note was written inside a folded white card, which...

Tom Brady, Jerod Mayo Among Patriots Offering Memories of Junior Seau's Time in New England

FOXBORO, Mass. -- Matthew Slater got a rare opportunity to get some snaps at safety against the Cardinals during his rookie season in 2008, and as he jogged backed to the huddle, he looked up and had a "wow" moment as he realized he was listening to Junior Seau give some defensive orders. Slater had plenty of superstar teammates that season, but none like Seau, who actually...

Maybe Wes Welker isn’t getting the message…

Wes Welker has been locked into contract negotiations with the New England Patriots virtually since the moment the Patriots walked off the field after their Super Bowl loss to the New York Giants but there has been very little progress. Instead Welker has had the pleasure of watching the Patriots receiving core get a whole lot deeper over the offseason. The latest signing is an ex...

Cincinnati Bengals Announce Undrafted Free Agent Signings

Soon after the completion of the 2012 NFL draft, teams jump on the phone to sign the undrafted free agents that they liked during the predraft process. Sometimes this process can be maddening because many of the sources are somewhat obscure and we're always bound to miss one. Still we charted it the best we could, charting a total of 14 players. The Cincinnati Bengals officially...
