Yesterday evening, the Sporting News cited on it’s website that Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart was diagnosed with cancer and was ‘out indefinitely.’ This was big news to everyone, as no statement was made from the Panthers or Stewart. It was such a shock to Stewart, because he says he doesn’t have cancer: Dear fans I do no have cancer @sportingnews must of had a typo in there updates! So there info is completely false no worries #fail — Jonathan Stewart (@Jonathanstewar1) June 24, 2013   The Sporting News has since issued a correction on their website, saying that it was an error with their feed. They did not apologize for it, nor did they say the information was incorrect.
