Free agent running back Joseph Addai is expected to sign a deal with the New England Patriots this week, as was first reported by his former Indianapolis Colts teammate Peyton Manning at a charity event. Addai had spent his entire NFL career with the Colts up until now, but with the team in complete transformation mode, many faces have changed places in Indy. Addai is simply the latest. But the Patriots? Really? I just don’t see it. New England did allow Benjarvus Green-Ellis to depart for greener pastures – or orange, I suppose – as he signed a free agent deal with the Cincinnati Bengals. That leaves Danny Woodhead, Stevan Ridley and Shane Vereen as the other running backs currently on the roster.
