PLAYERS: Josh Cribbs
TEAMS: Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Cribbs was asked by ESPN Radio in Cleveland if he’s been talking with other teams. “My agent has been meeting with several different teams. There is a lot of interest. There are already numbers brought to the table. Things are happening. Wheels are turning behind closed doors,: said Cribbs, per ESPNCleveland.com The problem with what Cribbs said is that he and his agent aren’t supposed to be talking with any other teams until he becomes a free agent on March 12th. Cribbs’ agent J.R. Rickett went on Twitter to do some damage control. Let me be clear. @joshcribbs16 is a Cleveland Brown til March 12. No other discussions are on process. — JR Rickert (@JRRickert) February 28, 2013 Sorry to break it to you guys, but Cribbs already let the cat out of the bag.  The Browns have the option to file a tampering complaint against any teams that have been speaking with Cribbs and his agent.  We’ll have to see what happens.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = 'http://widget.crowdignite.com/widgets/27484?_ci_wid=_CI_widget_'+_CI.counter; script.async = true; ref.parentNode.insertBefore(script, ref); })();

2013 NFL Mock Draft: Defense dominates the first round

This latest 2013 NFL mock draft takes into account where players could be drafted so far in the process and takes in account the Alex Smith to the Kansas City Chiefs trade. The NFL Scouting Combine is over, and a lot of players shot up the board due to their performance. Eddie Lacy dropped out of the first round due to opting out of the combine. Sharrif Floyd and Sheldon Richardson...

Browns reportedly love Geno Smith

According to Matt Miller of Bleacher Report, the Cleveland Browns love former West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith in this year’s draft.  They didn’t expect him to be available when they go on the board with the sixth pick, but now that the Chiefs traded for Alex Smith, they might be able to snatch him up. I don’t think the new Browns regime believes they have their quarterback...

Josh Cribbs says his agent is meeting with several NFL teams, agent quickly denies it

It’s become abundantly clear that NFL players don’t quite have an understanding of NFL rules. Free agency start on March 12 and until that date players can’t begin negotiating with any other team but their own. If players were to meet with other teams, it would be considered tampering. But that didn’t stop Vontae Leach from tweeting that former teammate Sean Smith was negotiating...

Attack is the keyword for the Browns defense

Some day its the chicken, others the egg. So it goes with the Cleveland Browns' new defensive system, a chicken or egg question if ever there was one. Did the Browns adopt the new system because they hired coaches who believe in it, or did they choose the coaches because they believe in the Browns preferred system? CEO Joe Banner had a plain answer last week when he met the...

Scott Fujita Says Gay Player in Browns Locker Room ‘Would Not Be an Issue at All’

Since his days with the Saints, Scott Fujita has always been outspoken with his political views — specifically those regarding gay rights. Now with the Cleveland Browns his stance remains the same, and as the issue heats up with reports of inappropriate questions being asked at the NFL Combine, the linebacker once again talked about the next step toward accepting openly gay players...

In depth 2013: Cleveland Browns

Few teams are going through more change this offseason than the Cleveland Browns. … Again. This time the turnover includes not just a new coach or quarterback, but a new ownership group led by Jimmy Haslam. Haslam wasted no time putting a new stamp on the organization, bringing in Joe Banner to run the team. The duo then signed off on the additions of Michael Lombardi as vice president...
