Josh Dobbs tells hilarious story involving Jauan Jennings, Butch Jones, and a hockey game
Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Sports

Former Tennessee Vols teammates Josh Dobbs and Jauan Jennings linked up this week on The Torchbearers Podcast and they told some fun stories from their time together on Rocky Top.

(Jennings and Dobbs will once again be teammates in 2024 after Dobbs signed with the San Francisco 49ers this week. Jennings has been with the 49ers since getting drafted by San Francisco in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft.)

One of the stories that Dobbs told involved Jennings, former Vols head coach Butch Jones, former UT wide receiver Preston Williams, and a hockey game.

"We're at the Outback Bowl and Jauan and Preston had just put together an EP and it was a banger," said Dobbs. "So we go to the hockey game (in Tampa). We're walking in as a team, but they have the pep rally before the game with the stage and everything. And they got a guy up there with a microphone hyping up the local Tampa Bay Lightning fans and everything.

"I'm standing next to Coach Jones. And Coach Jones turns around and he goes 'Why is Jauan and Preston on stage'? The whole team turns around, Jauan and Preston grab the mic and are freestyling their song 'two feet' in front of the entire hockey crowd."

"You should've hopped in there with us," added a laughing Jennings.

I've searched the internet for footage of Jennings and Williams rapping in front of Tampa Bay fans to no avail. Hopefully some footage exists somewhere that eventually makes its way to the internet.

Tennessee, by the way, beat Northwestern 45-6 in the Outback Bowl that week.
