Bucs quarterback Josh Freeman has seen several changes to the offensive coaching staff in the five years he’s been here.  However, this time around, Freeman and the players are much more confident with a full offseason under Mike Sullivan’s offense. And when there is confidence, the players get comfortable with their abilities and understand the scheme better. After practice today of day one of minicamp at One Buc Place, Josh Freeman explains how they are in a much better spot this year as opposed to last year. The comfort levels are just so much higher and I speak for the entire offense. Mike, Vincent, Doug, the entire offensive line. It’s the communication, going in on each down, it’s all functioning on a higher level. And that comes with experience. I think that this offseason the guys put in a lot of work. Everybody all around making sure that by the time we get to the season there are no more of those plays of indecision. Everybody is going to be on the same page. We’re not going to hinder ourselves. The offense has indeed looked confident so far during the offseason programs — even though they are just practices and workouts. Players seem to have an understanding of what is expected of them and they all appear to be communicating well and more importantly, on the same page. But Freeman and the Bucs have to keep it going now and on through to the regular season. Because if they are not successful when the games count, then perhaps they were a bit too comfortable this offseason.
