I’ve always said that Josh Freeman is not a true NFL QB1. At least not for a real team. If Jay Cutler is a “top 15 NFL QB” like Boomer Esiason said, than Tampa Bay Buccaneers signal caller Josh Freeman is a “top 30″ quarterbacking talent. Today, he faced the train wreck that is the New York Jets, and turned in a 67.9 passer rating and 22.5 QBR stinker. Facing a less than stellar secondary, Josh Freeman couldn’t complete half of his passes. This is the beginning of the end for him in Tampa. They’re going to look elsewhere soon. Peter King of Sports Illustrated: “Josh Freeman is on trial for his job and he had a very poor opening argument in that trial today…I think there’s a very good chance that we’re seeing the last year of Josh Freeman in Tampa.” True, but the options for 2013 are limited. You have the boney/lanky rookie out of NC State Mike Glennon. He’s a third round pick in a very weak QB class. This next draft is loaded at the most important position in sports. They should gra

  • Yes, he was facing the 'trainwreck that is the Jets Secondary" but they (Jets) also have a great Defensive line. Personally, I don't think the loss was Freeman's fault, after all he led them down the field and to a lead with 2 minutes left and the defense let the Jets march right down the field to the winning field goal.

It's tough ship for Freeman, Bucs

Every professional athlete is supposed to lead to some extent, but no position in sports requires leadership as explicitly as the NFL quarterback. You're orchestrating the offense, calling plays in the huddle, and generally the most visible member of your squad. Before it was co-opted by Gregg Williams, the quote "Kill the head and the body will die" -- or else, "...

However, as Smith stepped out of bounds, David unnecessarily pushed him down...

LB Lavonte David, Buccaneers move past late-game mistake

TAMPA, Fla. -- The day after, no Tampa Bay Buccaneers defender worried about linebacker Lavonte David's frame of mind. David's penalty sinks Bucs in 18-17 loss to Jets

Lavonte David sat on a stool in front of his locker, his head down, trying to make sense of what just happened. A couple of Buccaneers teammates came over and patted the linebacker on the back. Offseason news centered around the new stringent discipline in place and the...
