New York Giants
The rest of Jason Pierre-Paul’s season appears to be up in the air after the Giants declared him out for Sunday night’s visit to the Redskins.
Pierre-Paul (shoulder) was one of the four players the Giants said Friday would not make the trip to Washington, joining running back Brandon Jacobs (knee) and cornerbacks Corey Webster (ankle) and Trumaine McBride (groin).
The rest of Pierre-Paul’s season could be in jeopardy if the Giants feel that shutting him down in a 4-7 year would be the best way to ensure he is healthy for the start of next season.
Pierre-Paul has struggled with shoulder and back injuries each of the last two seasons and was limited to just one tackle and no sacks in last week’s loss to the Cowboys — a game in which he had promised there would be “a lot of blood spilled out there.”
Resting Pierre-Paul also means the Giants will be able to get a long look at young defensive tackles Markus Kuhn and Damontre Moore, a rookie third-round pick.

Despite the New York Giants 4-7 record this season, the players have made it clear that they want head coach Tom Coughlin back next season.
“He is the New York Giants,’’ cornerback Terrell Thomas said via the New York Post. “He epitomizes this organization as a selfless person who takes it all on his shoulders. When we lose, he takes...
It doesn’t sounds like New York Giants running back Brandon Jacobs and defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul will play this Sunday night against the Redskins.
Just got back from Giants practice. Jason Pierre-Paul and Brandon Jacobs were nowhere in sight. Good chance they won't play.

The New York Giants, who travel to Washington this weekend to play the Redskins on Sunday night, aren’t taking the Washington Redskins running attack lightly. At 4-7, the Giants can’t take anyone lightly. Plus, no matter what they see on their 2013 game film, the memories of how tough Griffin, Alfred Morris and the Redskins were to […]
The Giants are going to be without defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul Sunday against the Redskins.Fantasy Spin:Pierre-Paul is battling a shoulder injury. It's the first game Pierre-Paul has missed in four NFL seasons. Pierre-Paul recorded 16.5 sacks two seasons ago but is only on pace for three in 2013.
Tom Coughlin has a lot of ring protection, so it would be stupid to assume that New York Giants management would move to fire Coughlin after such a rough season.
Coughlin, who has one year remaining on his contract could choose to walk away though.
The 68 year old Coughlin has made no indication that he plans to walk away, and according to the New York Post, his players want him...
Following a nice first down run against the New York Giants on Sunday night, RG3 slipped and busted his butt as he ran out of bounds.
You want to play for the New York Football Giants? You better show some health during the week and get on the practice field, or head coach Tom Coughlin won’t even look your way when it comes time to suit up on Sunday – Just ask wide receiver Hakeem Nicks.
Nicks declared himself ready to play against the Dallas Cowboys last week in a game that was basically a sink-or-swim-type...
Nicks is fighting injuries once again, as well as for a good contract when season is done
Sometimes, after you have read an article about someone or something you stop, think about it, and say “that makes sense” or “I can accept that”. On the other hand, every once in a while you read an article and you ponder about it cause it does not make much sense.
This morning I was...
Last week: 24 (-1)
Over the Giants’ 4 game winning streak, they beat 4 quarterbacks who currently no longer have starting jobs (Josh Freeman, Michael Vick, Terrelle Pryor, Scott Tolzien). Once they dealt with a real quarterback in Tony Romo, they had a bit of a tougher challenge. Now at 4-7, 2.5 games back of Dallas, who holds the tiebreaker, the Giants are effectively...
Sunday night the New York Giants and Washington Redskins will face one another in a match-up of two NFC East teams.
The Giants (4-7) and Redskins (3-8) are both coming off losses and find themselves playing one another with the loser falling to the bottom of the division.
Coverage of the game between the Giants and Redskins will air on NBC beginning at 8:30 pm ET from FedEx Field...
Between Eli Manning's turnover woes and Robert Griffin's dad in the locker room there is plenty to talk about but here are three bold predictions for this week's game between the New York Giants and Washington Redskins. The Giants defense will shut down Griffin and Alfred MorrisThe Giants defense has been very good as of late as they look like the Giants of old. Jason...
A young quarterback getting picked apart in a large market; it's a familiar tale for New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning. Which means he can relate to what Robert Griffin III is enduring.
It's not just Griffin, as some other young quarterbacks have struggled as well, notably San Francisco's Colin Kaepernick. And Colts quarterback Andrew Luck's numbers the past...
New York Giants (4-7) at Washington Redskins (3-8)
I’m torn on this one. On one hand, this line seems pretty off at first glance. The Giants aren’t significantly better than the Redskins, which is what this line would suggest, as the Giants are favored in Washington. The Redskins were favored by 1.5 points last week in the early line, so the line has essentially shifted 3 points...
It is a sad state of affairs when you take a look at the injury report and just do not seem to care who is, and who is not, playing.
But the Giants have announced the following players will be out for Sunday's game against the Redskins:
Giants announce Pierre-Paul, McBride, Jacobs, Webster OUT for Sunday. Nicks probable.
