Found August 26, 2012 on Juan Elway:

I will go round by round through a draft and tell you who I like in a specific round and who I don’t like in a specific round. This may be the best way for me to help you get through your draft. Of course there is tons of goodness in the Juan’s Draft Plan as well.

Don’t Take The 49ers D

Defenses change year to year and are the easiest position to switch around from week to week based on matchups.  There is no reason to ever reach this high into the draft to grab a defense.

The Spleen

Jason Witten didn’t need surgery, but that doesn’t mean he won’t miss multiple games this season.  Not much of a scoring threat these days, I’m waiting till later in the draft to grab a guy that will match or exceed his totals.

Jennings Value

Rashad Jennings’ value has jumped like crazy over the past week, but how early is too early for him?  If we knew MJD was out all season this would be a steal.  If we knew MJD would be back week 1, this could be a questionable.  I would rather wait a round or 2 to grab him.

Upside Backup RBs

Michael Bush and CJ Spiller were huge last season when the guys in front of them went down.  Now, Forte and F-Jax are not exactly injury prone, but these guys could be flex worthy if the settle into their own roles.  Bush will be the goaline RB and could score double digit TDs.  Spiller will be more useful in PPR leagues as the Bills will line him up all over the formation.  If one of these guys hits the starting lineup they will have a ton of value.

Charger WRs

Malcom Floyd and Robert Meachem are both getting drafted in this round.  A far cry from where Vincent Jackson was going in the last couple of seasons.  Floyd would be guy I would want if I knew he would be healthy for all 16 games, because he has shown some juice when he’s in there.  I’m not really sure how I feel about Meachem.  He never lived up to potential in NO and hasn’t impressed this offseason either.  I would rather wait and see if one of the 2 drops a round or 2 more and then grab him.  Rivers #1 guy will have value, I’m just not sure who it will be.

Down With DHB

DHB has been the best WR in Raiders camp and after his mini break out season in 2011, big things could in store for him this season.  Denarius Moore and Jacob Ford are in and out of the trainers room and the rookie guys Criner and Streater may not be ready for a big role.  I really like DHB and round 8 is a perfect spot to grab him.

D-Willy Style

The Panthers RB situation is a muddled mess, but if one of the 2 RBs goes down the other becomes a top 10-15 guy.  This might be a time to grab one of the 2 if they are there and stash them in case of an injury.

Witten begins to workout

Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten was on the field working with trainers today at Valley Ranch.
