A judge extended the probable cause window in the Aaron Hernandez murder trial at the request of prosecutors, who claim that additional evidence has been uncovered, including evidence that contains Hernandez’s fingerprints. The delay follows news that the case against Hernandez in a 2012 double-murder in South Boston appears to be strengthening. That incident that may provide probable cause for the June shooting death of 27-year old Odin Lloyd. A silver SUV rented in Hernandez’s name at the time of the 2012 incident was linked to the double-murder scene.  Reports say that the SUV pulled up beside the car that Safiro Furtado and Daniel Abreu were sitting in and open fired, killing them both. According to the Boston Globe, investigators believe that Lloyd may have known about details that could incriminate Hernandez in the double-murder, leading the former Patriots tight end to shoot Lloyd because of worries that he might talk to authorities.
