Happy 40th birthday, Warren Sapp! Wow, 40. You’d think that a guy who has been through the entire gauntlet of the Former Pro Athlete’s Textbook would be a little older, but here we are just barely cracking the egg of Sapp’s contribution to society and popular culture alike. One of the truest examples of the brash, arrogant Miami Hurricanes of the late 1980s and early 90s – oh how we miss them so – Sapp was a freak of nature throughout his college and pro careers, and his reputation as a true NFL rock star began on the first night of 1995 NFL Draft, when he was passed on by 11 teams because of rumors of cocaine and marijuana use. A Miami Hurricane? Why, I never. But for the bulk of his 13 seasons in the NFL, Sapp made those 11 teams pay for not drafting him higher, and he basically made any team that wasn’t the Tampa Bay Buccaneers his ***** for simply being against him. A seven-time Pro Bowler and two-time NFL All-Decade Team selection, Sapp will most likely be a first ballot Hall-...

Warren Sapp partied hard on birthday

Warren Sapp turned 40 on Wednesday and treated the big event as you’d expect. There were multiple bottles of Ace of Spades, orange juice, Cristal, and even a 40 of OE (that’s Olde English for those of you who aren’t familiar with 40 oz. slang). What a huge year it has been for Sapp. The guy accuses Jeremy Shockey of being the Saints bounty snitch, sorta loses his job at NFL...

Report: Greg Schiano sides with Adam Hayward after sideline incident

Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Adam Haywrd got into an altercation with assistant coach Bryan Cox during this past Sunday’s loss to the Saints. Hayward ended up pushing Cox, which is a no-no for any football player. What’s really interesting is that it looks like Hayward won’t be punished for his actions. According to Eric Edholm of ProFootballWeekly.com, Bucs head coach Greg...

Ronder Barber denies criticism of Bucs coaches

It was reported that after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were blown out by the Atlanta Falcons 41-0, a member of the Bucs privately remarked “Can we send these coaches back to college?“ Ronde Barber is now firing back at the report by ProFootballTalk.com, saying that it's not true at all. "Somebody said what?'' he said, when told of the comment by The Tampa...

NFL Rumors: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tiring Of Greg Schiano Already?

Losing brings out the worst in people. It is always difficult to lose a game, especially in the National Football League, where there are so few to begin with in a 16 game regular season. Often, losing can turn players into winners, as long as that is the culture in the locker room. But when that is not the culture, losing can turn players against each other, as well as against the...

NFL Coroner's Report: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Autopsy

Before Week 15, there were eight victims of the NFL grind, and with arguable exceptions, they were all declared 'dead men walking' quite some time ago. After Week 15's slate of games, there would be another quartet of lifeless masses heaped upon the Football Nation Morgue, all with just a smidgen more optimism than that original group of tagged-and-bagged cases. As these...
