Just How Important is Hakeem Nicks Going To Be?

Another Hakeem Nicks headline? After Tuesday’s injury scare, I’m sure we’d all love to just not think about Hakeem The Dream for a couple days while he rests up safely on the sideline. But now that we are breathing and sleeping again on the heels of the good news that his knee is “A-OK,” it got me thinking about just how damn important Nicks appears to be to this offense. Look at it this way: name one other Giants player, besides Eli Manning, who would garner such immense handwringing in a similar situation. Offensively, you just can’t do it. There’s not a particular offensive linemen. Ahmad Bradshaw? Close, but not quite with the same dramatic tenor that the Nicks injury took on.
