When the Raiders released Justin Fargas just days before he accepted his second consecutive Commitment to Excellence Award you knew karma would eventually come back with a vengeance. In this case, vengeance will be wearing orange as the Denver Broncos signed Fargas today.
Aside from the longtime rivalry between the Donkeys and the Raiders, the real irony is that Denver is signing the oft injured Fargas due to their top two runners being injured.
While Fargas will always be a fan favorite in Oakland, his tenure in Denver – however long it lasts – will be a sore point for Silver and Black faithful. Fargas understands this is a business and presumably isn’t harboring hard feelings towards the Raider organization. But don’t think he isn’t out for a little revenge.
”I had seven years in Oakland. That chapter is done,” said Fargas, who was released by the Raiders in March. “This is a new beginning for me. Obviously, I see the opportunity here. I want to make the most of it.”
While I wish Fargas nothing but the best, I truly hope he goes out and breaks a leg in Denver.
