Found July 08, 2008 on Rams Gab:
We all have scoured the Rams new players with a fine tooth comb in the months since the draft and read seven million articles and soft-focus features about each player. But wait, there's more. Bill Barnwell of Football Outsiders wrote an article last week about players picked on the second day of the draft, who have the potential and the chance to be impact players in the NFL. He chose just ten players, and one of them was Rams draftee Justin King. Here's what he had to say about King: ? Justin King, CB, Penn State (St. Louis Rams, 4th round, 101st overall pick) King dropped in the draft after a dreadful second half of his senior year. After allowing only 18 catches for 227 yards through his first six Big Ten games, he gave up 32 catches for 490 yards in his final six. That screams fluke or underreported injury. He's a fast cover corner who struggles in run support, a skill set that pencils him as a "slot corner" until he packs on more muscle and can move outside. His talents are reminiscent of Fakhir Brown, the player King is likely to replace in the lineup by the end of 2009. This is great news for Rams fans, especially with Fakhir Brown on thin ice and could potentially be suspended for a year at any time. It's also good to see that Bill dismisses King's bad second half of his senior year as an anomaly. With Justin King added to the mix, the Rams should have a great competition going for CB spots.
