The Super Bowl champion New York Giants (ugh) tweeted out this picture of defensive lineman Justin Tuck‘s new facemask via their Facebook page today and, um, holy crap. That thing is intense. It looks like the cut one of those buckets of golf balls at the driving range in half and screwed it onto a football helmet. If Tuck throws a visor on that thing he’ll probably look exactly like Optimus Prime in Transformers. I hate to admit it, but that’d be pretty badass.

This isn’t the first time Tuck and his Giants teammates have gotten creative with facemasks. You may remember that Tuck and fellow lineman Jason Pierre Paul rocked these grills during much of last season:

Apparently, Tuck didn’t think that was intimidating enough…so he went all out on the new design. I’ll be interested to see how it looks during the season.
