Jyles Tucker has torn his pectoral muscle and will miss the rest of the season. He was placed on the IR today. He tore the muscle trying to block a punt.

On August 25, 2008, it was announced that the Chargers re-signed Tucker for 5 years at a reported $14 million.  He only played in 7 games last year and collected 4 tackles.  This year, he played in 3 games and had 3 tackles and his first sack since 2008.

He has been a disappointment since signing his contract and will be fighting to keep a roster spot next season. He keeps finding ways to get injured.

We have already been short on outside linebackers with the injuries to Larry English and Shawne Merriman. That leaves the team with Shaun Phillips, Antwan Applewhite, Brandon Lang, and Special Teams player Kion Wilson left at the position.

I wouldn’t mind seeing the Chargers signing a veteran outside linebacker to get some playing time, especially if Merriman cannot go anytime soon.

Adalius Thomas is available and can provide some depth at the position. If he would take a paycut, i would work him out and see what he has left in the tank. We should just sign Junior Seau again. He will at least sell some tickets and we can lift these stupid black outs!
