San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick had a performance for the ages on Saturday as he led his team to a dominant 45-31 divisional playoff victory over the Green Bay Packers. In the process, Kaepernick completely dismantled the Packers defense, rushing for 181 yards and  two touchdowns and proving that he is not a one-dimensional running threat, added two passing TDs. With the all eyes upon the young quarterbacking phenom on Saturday evening, Kaepernick was afforded a grand stage to demonstrate his trademark celebratory move where he kisses his flexed bicep. Since everything has to have a name and a nod to the Tebowing phenomenon from yesteryear when Tim Tebow actually contributed to his team’s offense, a clever little “-ing” has been added to the quarterback’s name in order to give the move its own moniker: “Kaepernicking.” Now folks have begun taking photographs of themselves mimicking the move and uploading said pics to the interwebs is now becoming the latest internet craze. Because imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and that’s what people do and stuff. The folks over at With Leather tracked down a website dedicated to the inevitable “Kaepernicking”  phenomenon, Kaepernicking.co, which is described thusly: Kaepernicking: the act of kissing your bicep, which may or may not have a tattoo, after scoring. It’s all about Kaepernicking. Around the nation 49ers fans are tweeting pictures of themselves kissing their bicep with the simple hashtag #Kaepernicking I imagine over the coming days this site will be the go-to place where the best and the brightest of those bicep-kissing arm-flexing imitators will show off their posing prowess. To wit: Fantastic. If only the interwebs had been around when Copernicus was alive. That would have been pretty neat. Maybe.
