The 2009 Lou Groza Award winner from UCLA won out over veterans Josh Brown and Olindo Mare, who also tried out for the Redskins. The Redskins released K Billy Cundiff after signing Kai Forbath on Tuesday. Credit the Ravens for breaking camp with the untested Justin Tucker over Cundiff, who has struggled with consistency for the majority of his nine-year career. Cundiff’s booming leg may get him another shot, but it’s fair to wonder if his current problems stem from blowing the potential game-winning kick in last year’s AFC Championship game. The Redskins are leaving Forbath to handle kicking chores versus the Vikings in Week 6.
