Kansas City Chiefs (2-11) at Oakland Raiders (3-10) I picked the Chiefs as 6.5 point dogs last week in Cleveland because they were in such a good spot, but I made sure not to make it a huge play because I wasn’t sure how they’d respond once they had a week for the Jovan Belcher situation to settle in. In hindsight, I probably should have avoided the game entirely like I did the week before. However, 2 weeks after the incident, I don’t think that situation is relevant to purely picking games. Obviously, it’s still a relevant situation, but I don’t think it will affect them in any possible significant negative or positive ways on the field. That’s good because I really like the Chiefs again this week. Their loss last week in Cleveland actually opened up a good situation for them this week. Road dogs are 86-50 ATS off a road loss since 2008. The Raiders, on the other hand, are in a bad situation. Teams are 59-85 ATS in what I call the sandwich situation since 2008, favorites off a loss...

Chiefs must re sign Dwayne Bowe before 2013

Kansas Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe is in the last year of his contract and the struggling Chiefs must make an effort to re sign Dwayne Bowe before 2013. Bowe has been a volatile wide receiver in the franchise’s history and has been extremely productive with 39 touchdowns in less than six seasons with three-thousand yard seasons, but not giving an effort to re sign him before...

My Two Cents: What’s Left for the Oakland Raiders? Part 3

What up RaiderNation? Welcome to this week’s edition of My Two Cents, with your favorite old man Raider fan, Old Timer. First of all, I want to thank all of you who participated in last week’s poll. It appears that RaiderNation agrees with me that Rolando McClain is the defensive player most likely to be cut or traded after the [...]

The Raiders need to a new approach to running their franchise. A look at Head Coaches in trouble this offseason.

The Raiders franchise has been a mess for over a decade.  They need to take a hard look at how things are being run. As we get closer to the end of the season it's time to start looking ahead to the coaching changes for next year. Here's a quick look at the teams I think will, or should, be looking for a coaching change when the season ends. Buffalo Bills...

Chiefs Place Dwayne Bowe On IR; Where Will He Play in 2013?

The Kansas City Chiefs have placed wide receiver Dwayne Bowe on injured reserve before Sunday’s battle with AFC West rival Oakland Raiders after the 6-2, 221-pound wide out reportedly suffered broken rips in last week’s loss against the Cleveland Browns. Bowe, 28, signed a one-year franchise tender earlier this year and absent a new contract with the team or the second application...

Branch returns to practice for Raiders

Oakland Raiders safety Tyvon Branch practiced for the first time this week, an encouraging turn for a struggling secondary sorely lacking depth. The news wasn't as promising for Richard Seymour. The seven-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle has not played since injuring his hamstring on Nov. 4 and did not practice Friday after aggravating the same injury a day earlier. The Raiders...

ND-Alabama trash talking in Chiefs locker room

KANSAS CITY, Mo. Coincidentally, Chiefs quarterback Brady Quinn's locker is right next to cornerback Javier Arenas' locker. Coincidentally, that's a Notre Dame alum (Quinn) right next to an Alabama alum (Arenas). So naturally, ever since it was decided that Notre Dame would be playing Alabama in the Jan. 7 BCS title game, there's been a little, ahem, friendly discussion...

Chiefs Place Dwayne Bowe on IR

In an expected move, the Kansas City Chiefs have placed wide receiver Dwayne Bowe on the injured reserve list, ending his season, reports Dan Hanzus of NFL.com. The Kansas City Chiefs made it official Saturday, moving wide receiver Dwayne Bowe to season-ending injured reserve. Kansas City Chiefs: Week 15 NFL Power Rankings (#30)

Last week: 30 (+1) Record: 2-11 Net points per drive: -0.96 (32nd) DVOA: -39.7% (32nd) Weighted DVOA: -35.6% (32nd) The Chiefs would be in the 31st spot if I felt they would lose to the current #31 team, the Raiders, but I don’t. That would get them their 3rd win, before they most definitely lose out against Indianapolis and Denver. Studs RB Jamaal Charles: Rushed for 165 yards...

State of the AFC West: Week 15 Edition

Well Raider Nation, in terms of what’s going on in the AFC West, last week just provided more of the same with one surprise. San Diego somehow managed to beat the Steelers, which should have shocked many. Outside of that, Oakland kept it closer than I thought they would against Denver and the Kansas City Chiefs kept themselves in the [...]

Bowe's injury further opens WR void for K.C.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) Steve Breaston isn't sure why he hasn't been getting on the field for the Chiefs. He's asked why but hasn't really gotten a straight answer, or at least not an answer that he's comfortable sharing. The veteran wide receiver hasn't been active for the last several games, during which the Chiefs' pass offense has been mostly abysmal...

Raiders Injury Report: Darren McFadden, Richard Seymour, Tyvon Branch

Oakland Raiders running back Darren McFadden is set to make his second start since suffering a high ankle sprain, while defensive lineman Richard Seymour and safety Tyvon Branch are questionable to play against the Kansas City Chiefs today. McFadden returned for the Raiders last week for their contest against the Denver Broncos. He only carried the ball 11 times for 52 yards...

NFL's responsiblity extends off field

For two weekends this season, the game of football wasn't the biggest NFL story. On consecutive Saturdays, horrific off-field incidents grabbed headlines. On Dec. 1, Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher shot his girlfriend nine times before fatally turning the weapon on himself a short time later outside team headquarters. Seven days later, Dallas Cowboys practice-squad...
