While preparing to write this article, the first thing I had to do was take a look at the Chiefs' schedule to begin my research. What game would I want to go to? What game will tell us how the Kansas City Chiefs are going to do this year?  I expected to pick a game against the Broncos or the Raiders, but my eyes stopped right at the top of the schedule.I knew what home game is the biggest for the Chiefs this year; that game would be their home opener against the Atlanta Falcons. The Atlanta Falcons have been high-flying the past couple of years with Matt Ryan, Michael Turner and two of the best receiving tandems in the game in Roddy White and Julio Jones. The Chiefs, on the other hand, have given us surprise seasons and huge disappointments the past couple of years. In 2010 the Chiefs made it to the AFC Wild Card Playoffs and got beat by the Baltimore Ravens. Last year the Chiefs were streaky; losing their first three games, winning the next four, losing the next four and then sp...

Flowers inactive for Chiefs' opener vs Atlanta

Chiefs cornerback Brandon Flowers has been ruled out for their season opener against Atlanta, leaving Kansas City without four key players on defense. Flowers had practiced sparingly this week with a bum right heel that's hampered him since late July. He was listed as questionable on Friday's injury report. The Chiefs were already without Pro Bowl linebacker Tamba Hali...

Romeo, Romeo, where art thou defensive linemen?

For the last five seasons, the Kansas City Chiefs have selected three defensive linemen in the first round of the NFL draft in Glenn Dorsey, Tyson Jackson and Dontari Poe. Chiefs offense prepared for shootout

KANSAS CITY, Mo. The number isnt three. Or two. Or six. Or five. Or seven. Or however many starters dont suit up on defense for the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday. Since 2009, the Atlanta...

KC cooked up wrong recipe vs. speedy Falcons

KANSAS CITY, Mo. When all you've got in the fridge is a pack of bologna, a loaf of bread and a 4-month-old jar of mayo, it's a little tough to make filet mignon. The NFL is a filet mignon league.
