On December 23rd, 2007, in a meaningless, diehards-only game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Detroit Lions, Jackie Battle received his first regular season carry in the NFL. It was a simple plunge up the middle, the ballā€™s placement on the Lionsā€™ three-yard line allowing only one objective for Battle: score. Battle was met by a trio (of an illegal twelve on the field) of Lion defenders at the line of scrimmage, all of whom were soundly dispatched in unique fashion; he bowled over the first, sidestepped the second and broke through the weak arm tackle of the third, allowing himself enough time to slide into the end zone comfortably. Battlesā€™ first professional moment in the spotlight, despite an illegal number of defenders and a porous offense surrounding him, resulted in a touchdown, although it would be awhile before he would again be at the center of an NFL stage. Even throughout his collegiate days at the University of Houston Battle resided in the background, ceding offensive opportunity and its accompanying notoriety to the pass-first-pass-second offense run by head coach Art Briles and starring quarterback Kevin Kolb.   • Jackie Battle is a Godsend to the Chiefs!! Everytime he has the ball he pushes his way to help give the Chiefs the yards they need to get a first down. Jackie Battle is a young strong talented player who is a pleasure to watch on the field! I just wish the Chiefs would become the number one team that players like Jackie deserve to be a part of! Keep up your enthusiam Jackie because we the fans know that the Chiefs need enthusiam on their team in able to go anywhere in the NFL. :-))
