Tebow Time may not be over just yet, folks.

Despite an embarrassing 45-10 playoff loss against the Patriots last weekend, Tim Tebow could still have a chance to compete in athletics. Karina Smirnoff, a professional dancer who competes professionally on Dancing With the Stars, is literally wishing for the famed Broncos quarterback to join the show.

"All I want for my birthday is for Tim Tebow to dance on Dancing With the Stars," Smirnoff said at her Las Vegas birthday party last Saturday, according to the New York Daily News. "Tim is a very talented athlete, that was clear when we saw his performance this past season with Denver." That wish could very well come true, given Tebow's propensity for performing in unlikely circumstances. Against New England, the former Florida Gator reportedly finished out the game despite torn rib cartilage, a bruised lung and fluid in his chest. The chance to compete again in the face of his poor health should be tempting to the second-year quarterback.

And the odds are good he would make it, since the show has yet to fill the slot often designated for NFL players. In the show's 11 seasons, Emmitt Smith, Warren Sapp, Jason Taylor, Jerry Rice, Kurt Warner, Lawrence Taylor, and Hines Ward have all been contestants. Despite plenty of success, Ward was the only one to take home the crown.

Tebow could very well be the second considering his history with unlikely victories. After an NFL season full of them, it seems all he has to do now is strap on a pair of blessed tap shoes, strike his signature pose and maybe let higher powers take care of the rest.

  • Actually, Emmitt Smith was the first NFL player to 'take home the crown' and well, Michael Irvin also danced though he didn't stick around very long.
  • How did the writer of this article miss the fact that Emmitt Smith won his season of Dancing? He was smooth as silk, and probably the best dancer ever to be on. I thought journalists were supposed to have the facts before they wrote a piece! Most of the NFL players have been good dancers, but not many have been great. Hines Ward was really good...and he won, too.
  • But if Tebow is Baptist....?

Tim Tebow Just Hanging Out In Las Vegas

The last dude you’d expect to be in Las Vegas was in Las Vegas yesterday. That’s right. Mr. Wholesome, Tim Tebow was in Sin City yesterday. According to TMZ he caught a performance of the Cirque du Soleil show, “O” at the Bellagio with his brother Robby and a friend. Before all of Christianity flies off the handle, Tebow was apparently nothing but his boring-ass self. He...

Report: Tebow declines TV analyst job

Tebow Time Over? CBS Attempts to Prolong Tebow Time, But Denver Broncos QB Politely Declines

It is a simple ratings strategy, really. Tim Tebow equals big time television ratings. It is that simple. So CBS decided that if they would not be able to feature him on the field in the 2012 AFC Championship Game on Sunday, they would attempt to do the next best thing and invite Tebow to be a guest analyst in their studio. Apparently, even Tebow Time has an expiration...

And On The 8th Day He Will Rise Again?

There were a lot of disappointed fans last Saturday night following the New England Patriots dismantling of the Denver Broncos. Tim Tebow, the Denver QB, developed a large cult-like following this past season, after taking over for Kyle Orton, and helping to guide the Broncos to the postseason in the most unconventional way. But though he had his millions of fans, he also has many...

Tim Tebow Keeps Starting Job

No matter which team wins the Super Bowl, the 2011 NFL season will be remembered for one thing: Tim Tebow mania. The most talked about player in the league was someone you either loved or hated. There’s simply no middle ground when dealing with Tim Tebow. With that in mind, there is good news for fans of the NFL: Tim Tebow will keep his starting job going forward. John Elway, the...

Elway - Tebow... What Now?

Denver Broncos' Chief of Football Operations, John Elway, has publicly stated that Tim Tebow is the Broncos' quarterback.  He is signed for the next few years, until 2015, so the time to decide is here.   What do the Broncos do with this talented, dedicated, unorthodox quarterback? Some would say make him a tight end or an H-back.  Others would say use him like Miami...

In The Red Zone - 1/17

Well what do you say in recapping that one sided win over Denver in the AFC Division Round of the NFL Playoffs?  A lot has already been said regarding Tom Brady, the Patriots offense, Tim Tebow, Tim Tebow and Tim Tebow by everyone else that I am going to skip all that nonsense. I also fully understand that they played the Denver Broncos, for the second time in a month, a team...

The Case For Staying The Course In Denver

Earlier this week, John Elway made the unsurprising announcement that Tim Tebow would be the starting QB for the Denver Broncos as they head into training camp this year.  While that’s certainly to be expected since the Broncos depth chart beyond Tebow consists of Brady Quinn and only Brady Quinn, I’m not sure that Denver will continue to pursue and utilize some of the spread...
