Kayvon Thibodeaux Receives an Encouraging Update for Week 11 Game
Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

In Week 10, Kayvon Thibodeaux could not finish the game, leaving early because of a concussion. His status for Week 11 was up in the air until Friday when he cleared concussion protocol . Thibodeaux, along with rookie wide receiver Jalin Hyatt (concussion), are ready to suit up this week. Cornerback Adoree’ Jackson (concussion) was unfortunately ruled out , along with right tackle Evan Neal (ankle).

The New York Giants drafted Thibodeaux fifth overall in the 2022 NFL Draft, expecting him to be a franchise cornerstone for years to come. Whether or not he has been worth the high pick is a contentious debate, but regardless he’s not going anywhere anytime soon. Through 24 career games, he has 12.5 sacks and three forced fumbles.

That includes a team-leading 8.5 sacks this year. Considering that the Giants only have 15 as a team, he has been an important part of the defense this season. Having him on the field will make a massive difference as New York seeks a third win.

Why Kayvon Thibodeaux Should Dominate in Week 11

New York’s Week 11 opponent is none other than the Washington Commanders, who Kayvon Thibodeaux has thrived against. In three career games against Washington, Thibodeaux has 3.5 sacks and 21 combined tackles, more than he has versus any other opponent. That includes a key sack, forced fumble, and fumble recovery for a touchdown last season that helped the Giants clinch a playoff spot.

When these teams met in Week 7, Thibodeaux’s day ended with 1.5 sacks. New York’s defense allowed only seven points in the home win. Washington has allowed the second-most sacks this year, so he may be lined up for another productive day. If the Giants want to win again, his pressure will be a major factor toward that goal.
