Current Redskins wide receivers coach Keenan McCardell does an interview with his former team's website. Brian Tinsman reports.
When Keenan McCardell was drafted by the Redskins in the Round 12 (326th overall) of the 1991 NFL Draft, he was immediately inducted into the fraternity of "roster longshots." While many in this group kick around the league for a few years before pursuing other careers, McCardell blossomed into a great receiver in Jacksonville.
In his 16-year career, he hauled in 883 receptions for 11,373 yards and 63 touchdowns. In 2002, he signed with the Buccaneers and led the team in touchdowns on the way to a victory in Super Bowl XXXVII.
In 2007, McCardell played his final season with the Redskins before joining the head coach Mike Shanahan's coaching staff in 2010.
