Found August 26, 2013 on Fox Sports:
All week long, Kendall Hunter peppered fellow San Francisco running back Anthony Dixon about how he looked in practice - how fast did he look? No more questions necessary after the burst Hunter showed Sunday night, a darting 15-yard gain during the 49ers' third series of the first quarter that resulted in a 5-yard touchdown throw from Colin Kaepernick to Quinton Patton against Minnesota. Hunter is looking plenty swift after working tirelessly to return following surgery on a torn left Achilles tendon that ended his season in late November last year. Only cleared for full practice activity on Aug. 10, Hunter had three carries for 13 yards against the Vikings - yet just being on the field at Candlestick Park meant more than his results for Frank Gore's likely backup. --- AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org

My Takes on the Backup Quarterback, and Receiver Situation for the San Francisco 49ers

I’ve said before that I don’t take a lot from preseason. I take more heed in practice, if the player can execute the plays given against the defense that knows the offensive plays the best, as they see them every day in practice. I use the A.J Jenkins example, how was he going to execute the plays in the game if he couldn’t even do it in practice. However, I must admit, preseason...

Austin Collie Not In The 49ers’ Plans?

On top of that, Collie only received 14 snaps during Sunday’s preseason...

Scott Tolzien waived by 49ers

Back-up quarterback Scott Tolzien was among five players waived by the 49ers on Monday. Here’s how it went down: OK, you got me. That’s not how it really went down because Scott Tolzien isn’t a British dude named Tim. Unless Tolzien has some previous former life as an international spy for MI6 he’s not telling anybody about. But the clip still applies because he was arguably...
