Was former Kansas City WR Eddie Kennison forced to retire? Yesterday he signed a contract with the Chiefs so he could retire as a Chief, but his comments to the media raise some eyebrows. Kennison played for 5 teams during his career in the NFL, however his most productive years came with the his time with the Chiefs, recording over 5000 yards and 25 scores. Kennison, 37, told the media that he didn’t want to retire. “The decision to retire was not actually mine. I just had to sign the papers. It was the National Football League or the teams in the National Football League that said, ‘He’s probably too old to play’ To them 37 is 107 in dog years. But too me, 37 is still young. I think I can still get out and compete with anyone out there”.
