With NFL free agency set to take off in mid-March it continues to sound like there’s a good chance safety Kenny Phillips won’t be re-signed by the New York Giants.
One league observer feels the Giants could let SS Kenny Phillips walk in free agency this offseason because of Phillips’ wear and tear the past three seasons and the money he might be seeking. The Giants typically set a number, and if the player isn’t willing to work with it, the club just moves on.
Phillips is a talented player, but his knee problems and the fact that Stevie Brown outplayed him this season, the Giants will likely let Phillips walk.
