The Raiders didn’t waste much time replacing their pass-catching tight end — who was lost in free agency — with one of similar qualities.
According to ESPNNewYork.com, the Raiders and Kevin Boss have agreed to terms on a four year, $16 million contract. The guaranteed money and other specific terms of the deal are not yet available, but Oakland is expected to finalize the signing sometime Friday evening.
Boss comes to the Oakland from New York, with whom he spent his first four seasons with. The Giants were working to re-sign Boss, but his asking price was “clearly too high” and he went to the next best suitor.
“It’s disappointing,” Giants coach Tom Coughlin said. “We were very much involved. But the decision is the decision. We wish him well.”
