Viking fans will no longer have to endure updates about the never-ending fight over Kevin and Pat Williams‘ suspensions for use of a banned substance. Yesterday Kevin Williams elected not to pursue further legal action, ending his involvement in the case. Pat Williams has decided to appeal to the Minnesota State Supreme Court, but of course Pat is no longer a member of the Vikings. So, at last, the Star Caps debacle is over as far as the Vikings are concerned.
The bad news of course is that Kevin Williams now faces a four game suspension. There has been talk of the league negotiating with K-Will to shorten that suspension but we’ll have to see how it goes. As of now, we except K-Will to be on the shelf for a full quarter of the season. Look for the Vikings to bring back Fred Evans, who is a free agent after not being tendered by the team last week, as a partial solution to the temporary loss of our Pro Bowl defensive tackle.
