Inside linebacker Keyaron Fox has wasted little time acclimating himself to the Washington Redskins, the team that signed him as a free agent two weeks ago. On the same day that Fox joined the Redskins, he leap-frogged Horatio Blades as London Fletcher’s backup. On Friday, with Fletcher sidelined with hamstring and groin injuries, Fox got the start and helped set the pace for another strong showing by the Redskins’ defense. Fox, who had the calls radioed into his helmet and then relayed them to his teammates in the huddle, signed with the Redskins after spending the last three seasons in Pittsburgh. During the 2008 and 2009 seasons, current Redskins linebackers coach Lou Spanos held the same position in Pittsburgh, and Fox says his familiarity with the coach is a big reason why he has been able to make a smooth transition.
