Former New York Jets wide receiver and current ESPN analyst Keyshawn Johnson told Bob Glauber of Newsday that his former team should trade cornerback Darrelle Reivs. “I think it’s a smart move if they do move him and get value,” Johnson said. “He’s not going to win any games for you. He’s a defensive back who will shut down the [opponents'] top receiver, but the ball is not in his hands. The Jets need more than a top corner. They need some pieces. If he gives them the value to get those pieces, then move him.” Johnson believes that trading Revis will help the Jets fill more needs. “It’s not that the Jets don’t want him,” said Johnson. ”It’s the right thing to do to build the team. He’s the top corner. He’s the guy. But [the Jets] need a quarterback, running back, wide receivers, other defensive backs. [A trade] gives them that opportunity to fill some of those holes. If they keep Revis, what else do they have? Not much. They’re in a division against the Patriots, and other teams in the AFC are improving.” I agree with Johnson.  Revis has been great for their team, but they have numerous other needs if they want to be a playoff contender. The only problem is that there likely aren’t any teams willing to give the Jets a first round pick for Revis. I wouldn’t take less then a first and second round pick for him   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = 'http://widget.crowdignite.com/widgets/27484?_ci_wid=_CI_widget_'+_CI.counter; script.async = true; ref.parentNode.insertBefore(script, ref); })();

The Jets are one team that definitely won’t draft Manti Te’o

Rarely will NFL teams go on record about player in the NFL Draft if it is a scathing review. They don’t have problems attaching their names to praise a player. Sometimes it is genuine, sometimes it is meant to push up a players value to force another teams hand. Typically, you won’t find them speaking poorly about someone with their name attached. But like with most everything...
