GREEN BAY, Wis. -- It would appear that Mason Crosby has won the Green Bay Packers' kicking competition. As part of the Packers' roster cuts to get down to 75 players by Tuesday's deadline, Green Bay released kicker Zach Ramirez. After cutting their original challenger, Giorgio Tavecchio, on Monday, it leaves only one kicker left on the roster: Crosby. Crosby soundly defeated Ramirez in a head-to-head kicking competition in Tuesday's practice, which made the Packers' decision much easier. Crosby was 14 for 14 in his field-goal attempts, while Ramirez made just 6 of 16. Ramirez was the only player that Green Bay actually released. Entering the day with 84 players on the roster, the other eight moves were all injury-related. Offensive tackle Bryan Bulaga, running back DuJuan Harris, wide receiver Kevin Dorsey and outside linebacker Jarvis Reed were all placed on injured reserve, so their seasons are over. Offensive linemen Derek Sherrod and JC Tretter, safety Sean ...

Mason Crosby (Photo Credit: AP) Finally, the last of the preseason games are among us and the regular season is just around the corner.  The final preseason game usually means a couple of things.  First, the starters on both sides of the ball will more than likely not play, or just play one series.  Second, with the first stringers getting minimal playing time, the backups will...
