Found November 27, 2012 on Eagles Eye:
It was remarkably quiet at the Linc last night...almost serene. Maybe the brisk temperature (36 F.) kept Iggles fans' frustrations in check. Or maybe the folks who did show up for the game ( 70% capacity) were just being respectful. After all, they were witnessing the death of the Andy Reid era in Philly. The only good thing about the eery funeral parlor atmosphere at the Linc was we as viewers at home could hear everything---and I mean everything---being said, shouted, or groaned within range of the directional mike on the field. That part of the game I found mesmerizing. Silver linings in the Eagles' loss? A few--- Bryce Brown is for real...we have found a viable big back, it appears, and chalk one up for Reid and his scouting staff for that find....I thought Nick Foles improved a lot over his debut last week, but that was mostly because of a dumbed-down game plan from which he audibled nicely. There is still a huge problem with his field vision and floating his ti...

Philadelphia Eagles: Where Will Andy Reid be Coaching Next Year?

In a year that began with the team owner saying that another 8-8 season wouldn’t be enough for Andy Reid to keep his job and the starting quarterback claiming that the Eagles were about to be a dynasty, a 3-8 start with seven consecutive losses surely wasn’t the way the long-time Philly head coach drew things up. So if team owner Jeffrey Lurie is true to his word and lets Andy...

Embattled Eagles, Andy Reid stay the course

A seven-game losing streak won't get Andy Reid to change his ways. As usual, Reid accepted blame and pointed the finger directly at himself following the Philadelphia Eagles' latest loss, 30-22 to the Carolina Panthers on Monday night. ''I take full responsibility. There's a way to get through and I'm not doing it right now,'' Reid said Tuesday....

Superman Returns: Cam Newton Shows True Colors In Prime-time Win

Sophomore Carolina Panthers' quarterback Cam Newton had a miraculous rebound game against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football. Newton threw for 306 yards and two touchdowns, boasting a 64.3% completion percentage, and a 125.0 passer rating. Newton also accumulated 52 rushing yards and two goal-line rushing touchdowns on the ground.Although Newton’s performance...

3 bright spots from Philadelphia Eagles’ 30-22 loss to the Carolina Panthers

His name is Brown. That’s what they call him. Image via the Philadelphia Eagles. The words are more difficult to come by with each loss. What more is there to say? The nightmare that is the 2012 season for the Philadelphia Eagles continues. In a season with not much positivity, I can’t bear to write another somber account of yet another Eagles loss. At least not at the moment...

Bryce Brown Fantasy Forecast

Up until this past Monday night, the only real hatred towards Andy Reid was coming from Philadelphia Eagles fans. But after Bryce Brown racked up 178 yards and two touchdowns against the Carolina Panthers, Reid can add fantasy owners to the list. The Eagles are notorious for wanting to throw the ball. So much so, that LeSean McCoy could be arguably be perceived as a better wide receiver...

Newton accounts for 4 TDs as Panthers top Eagles

PHILADELPHIA -- The Carolina Panthers are asking quarterback Cam Newton to do less, and as a result, he's doing more. He did just about everything Monday night, passing for two touchdowns and running for two more to lead the Panthers over the Philadelphia Eagles 30-22 at Lincoln Financial Field. Panthers coach Ron Rivera said he told his quarterback not to try to carry the...

Panthers at Eagles preview

Not that the woes of Andy Reid and the Philadelphia Eagles have been flying under the radar, but now things could turn uglier as they come under the national spotlight.

Jason Babin Just Another Example of How Andy Reid Changed

One year removed from an 18-sack season, Philadelphia Eagles DE Jason Babin was abruptly released yesterday.  I don’t mean to pile-on here, but I can’t say I’m sad to see him go. In fact, I was very surprised they signed him (again) in 2011. I normally do not play the “I told you so” game, but…I told you so.  Back in June of 2011, I wrote an article saying why I didn’t...

Monday Night Football: Carolina Panthers at Philadelphia Eagles Preview and Prediction

Monday Night Football will feature a game that few outside of Carolina and Philadelphia will care about tonight. The 2-8 Panthers head to Philly to take on the 3-7 Eagles. Both teams have clearly struggled all season, so it will be interesting to see which team steps up in this game. The Eagles aren’t looking too good, as Andy Reid is on the verge of getting fired and Michael Vick...

The Best Moments From Panthers-Eagles

Another week gone by and the Phillies have still won a game more recently than the Eagles have. The best would be if the Flyers won a game before the next time the Eagles did. And that’s with the NHL losing a full season to the lockout. Not that Andy Reid had any chance of salvaging his job with a good performance in a prime time game against another team, but he couldn’t even...

Panthers 30, Eagles 22

PHILADELPHIA -- The Carolina Panthers struck for two long touchdown passes in the first half, and their defense came up with a crucial fourth-down stop in the fourth quarter of a 30-22 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night at Lincoln Financial Field. The Panthers (3-8) won despite a big day by Eagles rookie running back Bryce Brown, who rushed for 178 yards. However...

Michael Vick Still Not Medically Cleared

Eagles head coach Andy Reid mentioned that QB Michael Vick still hasn’t been cleared from a concussion that he suffered a few weeks ago. “If the young guys are available to play, we’re going to put them in and play them,” Reid said. “If that’s the situation, I’m not going to hesitate to do that. But we’ll see how things go here as we continue to roll on.” Vick...
