You like that!
Well, regardless of whether you do or don't, Kirk Cousins and his brother Kyle have applied for a trademark of the phrase.
Cousins initially uttered the now infamous words after the Redskins' Week 7 comeback win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Buccaneers went up 24-0 in the second quarter, but that's when Cousins and the 'Skins got going. The Washington quarterback threw for over 300 yards and three touchdowns as the Redskins edged the Bucs 31-30.
On his way back to the locker room following the victory, and unsurprisingly pumped-up Cousins let loose the phrase: "You like that!"
The trademark application is for protection of various goods and services bearing the mark, including bumper stickers, hooded sweatshirts, T-shirts and electronic billboard advertising.
Cousins was already selling "You like that" T-shirts to raise money for charity, prior to his application for a trademark becoming public.
Clearly, Cousins is looking to cash in on his catchphrase, and why not?
