RG3 out, KC1 in. A Redskins source tells ESPN's Adam Schefter that Kirk Cousins -- not Robert Griffin III -- will start Sunday's game against the Browns. The team has been informed of the decision. https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/280134067742195712 Confirmation also came from FOX Sports' Jay Glazer, who yesterday reported that Cousins received all of the first-team reps. Minutes later, Griffin tweeted that the decision wasn't his, but is still lending support. https://twitter.com/RGIII/status/280138681971527681 Though he was shaping up as a game-time decision, Griffin did next to nothing at practice this week while waiting to gain the go-ahead from doctors. Obviously the club's medical staff didn't feel comfortable subjecting Griffin, he of the sprained LCL, to game action. Not yet, anyway. In any case, it'll be Cousins, the 6-foot-3 Michigan State product, making his first career start. While he's looked solid in limited spurts,...

  • It really doesn't surprise me.We haven't played against a starting QB for the last three weeks. It will not matter, our offensive team can block against any team out there. It should make Weedon happy because Washington defense is bad. Kirk is too green, and coming off the bench cold. His timing will be off and he'll have a bad game. I just not impressed getting wins against crippled teams. Cleveland for the most part has been healthy all season.Shurmur is a lying egotisical dummy. That still is not a coach. If Heckert is gone, that will be a major mistake.

ESPN admits Rob Parker’s comments were inappropriate

ESPN has come out and admitted that Rob Parker’s comments on First Take were inappropriate. An ESPN spokesman released the following statement: “The comments were inappropriate and we are evaluating our next steps.” In my opinion ESPN needs to fire Parker for all the racial ignorance that he let come out of his mouth.  But I’m sure they’ll just give him a slap on the wrist...

Robert Griffin III’s father responds to Rob Parker

Earlier today, ESPN’s Rob Parker made some of the most ignorant comments anyone could make during an appearance on Thursday’s First Take. Parker took things way too far when he questioned whether or not Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III is “down for the cause” as a black man. “I want to find about him,” Parker said. “I don’t know because I keep hearing these...

Griffin III continues to practice with Redskins

Injured rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III practiced for a third consecutive day as the Washington Redskins prepared for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns. Griffin stretched with teammates and appeared to move well on his sprained knee during drills in the team's indoor facility, according to reports. Coach Mike Shanahan has said Griffin's status for Sunday...

A suspension, only, would be cowardly by ESPN

ESPN TV-personality, Rob Parker, was suspended today by the network for his insensitive and disparaging racial remarks in regards to Washington Redskins rookie quarterback, Robert Griffin III. Just in case you missed it, here is what Parker said about RGIII “Is he a brother, or is he a cornball brother? … He’s not real. OK, [...]

Redskins-Browns Open Thread

If the Skins win they have about a two-out-of-three chance of making the playoffs for the first time in five years. If not, it’s about a one-out-of-three chance.* It’s also Kirk Cousins’ first NFL start. No pressure, no diamonds. Kickoff: 1:00 p.m. ET Line: Redskins +2.5 Prediction: Redskins, 21-18 (* Playoff odds via The Insider.)

Redskins visit the home of Wahoo

It’s a special day with the worst team name in professional sports — also the last NFL franchise to integrate — visiting the home of the worst logo in the history of anything for the first time since 2004. With rookie phenom Robert Griffin III out today for the Washington Redskins, the Browns are poised for their fourth consecutive at-least-theoretically-Shurmur-saving win...

Browns Brandon Weeden Takes A Severe Beating By A Colt McCoy Clone Named Kirk Cousins in Week 15

Browns 29-year-old rookie quarterback Brandon Weeden showed the home town fans who attended the last home game of the regular season he still can’t win the tough games. Weeden did something most fans thought he outgrew, he threw a couple of interceptions in the game that helped the Washington Redskins in their cause to make the play-offs this season. The fans who wished to see...

Arian Foster in response to Rob Parker: ‘I’m going to work on my blackness today’

By making some incredibly insensitive and idiotic comments about Robert Griffin III on Thursday, ESPN’s Rob Parker has created the buzz he was looking for. As you have probably heard, Parker questioned RG3′s blackness while pointing out that he is a Republican and has a white fiance, among other things. After Parker made the comments on “First Take,” a Twitter user decided...

Washington Redskins: Head Coach Mike Shanahan-Brilliant or Lucky?

Heading into this third season with the Washington Redskins, head coach Mike Shanahan had acquired an overall record of 11-21 and, once again there were concerns about the future of the Redskins. There were questions raised about the handling of players, the quality of play of the field and his use of the draft in recent years. Now however, the Redskins find themselves in the thick...
