A Redskins source tells ESPN's Adam Schefter that Kirk Cousins -- not Robert Griffin III -- will start Sunday's game against the Browns.
The team has been informed of the decision.

Confirmation also came from FOX Sports' Jay Glazer, who yesterday reported that Cousins received all of the first-team reps.
Minutes later, Griffin tweeted that the decision wasn't his, but is still lending support.

Though he was shaping up as a game-time decision, Griffin did next to nothing at practice this week while waiting to gain the go-ahead from doctors. Obviously the club's medical staff didn't feel comfortable subjecting Griffin, he of the sprained LCL, to game action. Not yet, anyway.

It really doesn't surprise me.We haven't played against a starting QB for the last three weeks. It will not matter, our offensive team can block against any team out there. It should make Weedon happy because Washington defense is bad. Kirk is too green, and coming off the bench cold. His timing will be off and he'll have a bad game. I just not impressed getting wins against crippled teams. Cleveland for the most part has been healthy all season.Shurmur is a lying egotisical dummy. That still is not a coach. If Heckert is gone, that will be a major mistake.
