PLAYERS: Quinton Coples
TEAMS: New York Jets
Joe Klecko knows a thing or two about rushing the passer. A former Jets defensive lineman and member of the "New York Sack Exchange," his prowess earned him four trips to the Pro Bowl and a spot in the team's Ring of Honor. Now in a position to judge Gang Green's current pass rushers -- namely linebacker Quinton Coples -- Klecko doesn't like what he sees. "A little bit of the time, he looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane,” Klecko said of Coples, via ESPNNewYork.com. "Sometimes he gets out there and does things that are unbelievable. Well, you need to go out there and stick your nose in there every time and make sure everybody knows you're there. I think he has a lot to learn." This isn't anything new for Coples, the 16th overall pick of the 2012 draft. He entered the league with red flags surrounding his work ethic and hasn't done much to dispel them, recording just 10 sacks in two seasons. Physically, the 6-foot-6, 290-p...

Four Sleeper Picks I Like for the New York Jets

Kerley Fries: Jeremy’s Knack for YAC Will Lead to Big 2014

The seasoned treats always make for a good combo. Jeremy Kerley’s ability to make plays and ‘fry’ defenders after he gets the ball in his hands, is impressive and under-appreciated.  With the free agent acquisitions of Eric Decker and Chris Johnson, and with the draft ahead, it’s easy and understandable to forget anything positive on offense for 2013 or prior. However,...

First gang green inked veteran playmaker Michael Vick, and then they reeled in yet another playmaker to hand the ball to in Chris Johnson. Some analysts have called this new pairing a “Dynamic Duo” but in all reality they are two fading...

Former Jet DE Joe Klecko says Quinton Coples looks like Tarzan, and plays like Jane

Quinton Coples hasn’t been quite as successful through his first two seasons. Coples was projected as a top 10 pick and dropped to the 16th pick.  He hasn’t developed into the edge rusher that the Jets hoped he’d be. Former defensive end Joe Klecko does not question his athletic ability but rather his efforts.  “A little bit of […] The post Former Jet DE Joe Klecko...

Round one tight end options

For part two of this draft series we'll focus on possible tight end options for the Jets in the first round. You can find part one of the series, on receivers, here.Originally I planned to group the tight ends and receivers together, but the receiver class is too deep to not have it's own article for each round. The tight end position certainly won't cause the same problems...

After signing with a fake agent last year David Van Voris finally gets a shot

Last year, we wrote a story about David Van Voris an Adams State kicker that believed he had signed an agent when he found out his agent was not certified. After working extremely hard to make it, he was finally given a shot. We’ve heard some buzz that the New York Jets may be looking to swing a trade on draft day, to fill a big area of need. Cornerback is not as deep, this year, as another position of need—wide receiver—so perhaps finding an immediate contributor is the better route for 2014 success. According to one source, the Jets may be looking to swing a trade with the Dallas Cowboys for CB...
