After Tommy Tuberville left  for the head coaching job at Cincinnati, Kilff Kingsbury was introduced as the new Texas Tech head coach. His introduction speech was pretty typical though he did take a shot at Cincinnati. The former Red Raider quarterback called his previous coaching jobs “business decisions” but said that “being here now this is personal to me. This is where I want to be” Nearing the end of his speech Kingsbury said “One last request… I’m going to see if there’s any way possible we can get Cincinnati on the schedule next year.” (1:54 second mark)
