LIONS vs. 49ers (Sept 16 8:20 PM ET)

Could the 49ers look any better in Week 1? I do no think so, as they beat the Packers in Green Bay and they looked fantastic on both sides of the ball. Alex Smith outplayed Aaron Rodgers and the 49ers may have an offense that may stack up with their stacked defense.

The Lions won their season opener and while Matt Stafford passed for 355 yards he only had 1 TD and 3 INT. He, Calvin Johnson, and the Detroit passing offense will have to have to carry the offense, as not only do the 49ers have the best run defense in the league, but the Lions have one of the worst rushing offenses in the NFL.

The Lions played good defense in their win over the Rams, but it is the Lambs and they will not be able to stop the new offensive minded 49ers. Also, the San Fran D will play well and the Lions will not score a lot of points. The 49ers will win and win convincingly.

Aaron Rodgers a Big Fan of 'Celebrity Jeopardy,' Finds 'Smugness of Alex Trebek' to Be Hilarious

One man has the ability to make Aaron Rodgers laugh more than anyone: Jeopardy host Alex Trebek. Rodgers recently dropped by ESPN Radio Milwaukee to discuss a number of topics, including the Packers' Week 1 loss, the team's defense, the replacement officials and 9/11. At the end, Rodgers was asked what exactly makes him laugh, and the mild-mannered QB had a pretty funny answer...

Short Week For Aaron Rodgers & His Packers The Bears Look Hungry Too

Not only does Aaron Rodgers and his Green Bay Packers have to play on just three days rest they take on one of the teams biggest rivals in the Chicago Bears. The Bears looked sharp against the Colts last Sunday, that could be more than a little deceiving seeing how the colts are coming off one of their worse seasons in the teams history. People are insisting the Bears are hungry...

Aaron Rodgers Can Help Packers, Fantasy Owners Bounce Back in Primetime Tilt With Bears

It's one of the best rivalries in the NFL, and it will take center stage on Thursday night in Green Bay. That's where the defending NFC North champion Green Bay Packers will welcome the hated Chicago Bears to Lambeau. While it is only Week 2, this one is important for both teams. It's important for the Packers given their Week 1 loss to the 49ers. Meanwhile, the Bears...

49ers excel at protecting the football

(Updates. With AP Photos.) The San Francisco 49ers have improved in just about every facet of the offense this season. But there is one area where they didn't really need to get much better. The 49ers are protecting the football better than anybody in the NFL, and their turnover-free play is reaching historic proportions. San Francisco hasn't committed a turnover in six...

Packers defense provided positives vs. Bears

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- For a game this early in the season, the Packers' Thursday night win was important for the team on many levels. It avoided an 0-2 start, didn't allow the division-rival Chicago Bears (now also 1-1) to get a decisive lead in the NFC North standings and kept the Packers from losing their third consecutive meaningful game at Lambeau Field. Handing out grades...

Previewing Week 2

Five Big Games - Bears vs. Packers: Green Bay is featured in the biggest matchup for the second week in a row. Aaron Rodgers is still Aaron Rodgers, but the 49ers really exposed some weaknesses in the Packers: no rushing game, can’t stop the pass, can’t stop the run. And guess what, the Bears have a better quarterback, better receivers, and better running backs than the 49ers...

49ers could be the new NFC favorite

Last week, the 49ers were able to hold off the Green Bay Packers, securing a win that could very possibly turn into a tie-breaker at the end of the season. With a win against the Lions at home, the 49ers could establish themselves as the team to beat in the NFC. This game is intriguing for a number of different reasons. The Lions have a very explosive defense, but their...

Packers Use Fake Field Goal to Score Pivotal Touchdown in Win Over Bears (Video)

In a game that featured Aaron Rodgers and Jay Cutler at quarterback, it was Tim Masthay who threw the first touchdown pass in Thursday night's Packers-Bears game. It was by technicality, of course, as it was Masthay who "connected" with Tom Crabtree for a 27-yard touchdown "pass" near the end of the first half. The Packers used the old fake field goal on fourth...

Bears Implode As The Packers Cruise, 23-10

The Chicago Bears lost 23-10 in a game in which their defense was deceptively fantastic. The Chicago defense only gave up 219 yards passing to the incumbent MVP, Aaron Rodgers, yet sadly, the Packers were still able to score points on drives which should never have happened. The first three points came after the Packers failed to complete a third-down conversion, but still managed...

Bears at Packers Week 2 NFL Thursday Night Game Preview

Raise your hand if thought the Green Bay Packers would be the only team in their division to start the season with a loss.  Aaron Rodgers and company were able to keep the score close, but the San Francisco 49ers pounded the Packers and struck gold with their 30-22 win at Lambeau Field last Sunday. Now Green Bay will have a chance to bounce back on a short week on Thursday Night...

Fantasy Football Week 2 Preview (Part. 2)

In case you missed it, Part 1 of my Week 2 preview can be found here. In Part 1, I went over the first seven 1:00pm games (per the ESPN schedule listing) and I headlined the abysmal Bears vs Packers game that was on Thursday. Why was it abysmal? Aaron Rodgers, Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, [...]

Jay Cutler Yells At His OL And Shoves Him

It’s Thursday Night Football in the NFL where the Chicago Bears traveled to Lambeau Field where Aaron Rodgers and Jay Cutler had a contest to see who could be the worst quarterback on the field. Cutler was visibly frustrated with his offensive lineman after a play and followed him to yell at him and give him a little shove. We all know Cutler keeps calm under pressure… Also...

Morning Playbook - Rutgers hits the circle button for the win against South Florida

It was not a pretty night for quarterbacks in the football universe, unless your name happens to be Aaron Rodgers of course. While the Green Bay Packers were humiliating Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears up in Lambeau Field, there was college football to soak in. Rutgers 23, South Florida 13 (AP recap) - It was far from pretty, but Rutgers improved to 3-0 with a strong...
