The Eagles Perch:
PFT.com is reporting (via Adam Caplan of FOXSports.com) that QB Kevin Kolb has been traded to the Arizona Cardinals for a second round pick and CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. Rodgers-Cromartie was a Pro Bowler in 2009 and can be a playmaker in this defense.
It's quite the haul for Andy Reid and the Eagles, especially since Kolb only has a handful of starts in the NFL. Kolb can now be the unquestioned starter in Arizona and see if he has what it takes to start in the big leagues. Rodgers-Cromartie has been known to need a little motivation to reach his potential and he will certainly get that here, he is used to winning in Arizona (having started in the Super Bowl) and that will continue in Philadelphia.
Now the Birds need to look to their own QB situation and bring in a quality backup for Michael Vick. Vince Young is an intriguing option, as someone with starting experience who can learn from not only Reid, but from Vick too. Stay tuned!
